With summer temperatures hanging around and nights barely cool enough to justify a light jacket it is hard to believe that hunting season is finally upon us! But don't let the weather fool us, there is plenty of activity going on this weekend with "LIBERTY HUNT" taking place today and tomorrow and what we all used to call "SMALL GAME" opening tomorrow, in the Glorious September 15th.
And just to prove that activity we would like to present you Lane, who at 10 years old just shot a beautiful 10-point buck, with a Winchester XPR 350 Legend with Leupold scope that his parents just got a Hampel’s Gun Co.
It is great to see our younger generation participating in the great outdoor opportunities that we have in Michigan, and I believe that the "Youth Hunt" is a fantastic tool to recruit new hunters, but the Natural Resources Commission made this the last season that our young hunters can shoot both bucks and does during the 2-day season. Please, write your estate representative and the National Resource Commission to revert that short sighted decision!
